Terms of Service: Laser Edge Leather

Welcome to Laser Edge Leather. By placing a custom order, purchasing our products, or leaving property with us for repair or customization, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.

1. Limitation of Liability & Assumption of Risk

  • Safety & Use: Horse sports, riding, and handling livestock are inherently dangerous activities that involve significant risk of property damage, personal injury, or death.

  • Waiver of Liability: Laser Edge Leather (including its owners, employees, and affiliates) shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, injuries, losses, or accidents resulting from the use, misuse, or failure of our leather goods, horse tack, hardware, or other miscellaneous items.

  • User Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the customer and end-user to inspect all tack, stitching, hardware, and equipment prior to every use. Leather is a natural material that wears over time, and regular maintenance and safety inspections are required. By using our products, you assume all risk.

2. Custom Orders, Deposits, & Refund Policy

  • Upfront Deposits: For all custom horse tack and specialized projects, a deposit ranging from 50% to 100% of the total item cost is required before work begins on the project.

  • Strict No-Refund Policy on 100% Deposits: Any custom order that requires or is paid at a 100% upfront deposit is completely non-refundable. If the customer changes their mind, cancels the order, or decides they do not like the final handmade product, no refunds will be issued.

  • Natural Variations: Leather is a natural product. Minor variations in color, texture, grain, and natural markings are normal, expected, and are not considered defects.

3. Payment, Completion, & Late Fees

  • Payment Before Release: The total remaining balance must be paid in full before any item will be released, shipped, or allowed to leave the shop.

  • Late Fee Policy: Customers will be notified immediately upon item completion. If the balance is not paid and the item is not picked up within 7 calendar days of completion notification, a late fee may be assessed to the final invoice.

4. Repairs & Unclaimed/Abandoned Property (California Compliance)

  • Drop-off Policy: When leaving items (such as saddles or existing tack) for repair, alteration, or modification, customers acknowledge the pre-existing wear and condition of the item.

  • Abandoned Property: In accordance with California Civil Code regarding garment and equipment repairers, items left unclaimed after notification of completion will be held for the legally required period (typically 90 days for lienholders, or as otherwise designated under California standard property laws). If the balance remains unpaid and the item is not picked up after this period, Laser Edge Leather reserves the right to sell, liquidate, or dispose of the item to recover the costs of labor and materials.

5. Intellectual Property

  • All custom designs, tooling patterns, logos, and product photography created by Laser Edge Leather remain our exclusive intellectual property and may not be reproduced without written consent.

6. Governing Law

  • These Terms of Service and any separate agreements shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, with any legal proceedings handled in the local county jurisdiction.
